About Us

Vision:

Our goal is that all women, regardless of race, creed or national origin, will be empowered to make healthy and life-affirming choices as well as receive the community support that they need pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy and after delivery.  AAPLOG Action’s organizational vision is to be the pre-eminent medical voice that informs the medical community, policy makers and the public on the importance of state and federal policies that do not promote death as a therapeutic option, but rather respect the dignity of all human life and promotes the flourishing of health of both mothers and their children.

Who We Are:

  • Our 7,000+ members are a diverse group of medical professionals spanning the country. We work to renew a standard of medical excellence in order to inform our members’ life-affirming practices, empower our patients with accurate information and inform policy makers of the medical evidence of the harms of induced abortion for our patients.
  • We foster unity. Doctors who don’t perform induced abortions are not alone. We represent the vast majority of physicians who proudly care for their maternal patients without needing to turn to abortion – which ends the lives of our preborn patients and often harms our maternal patients.
  • We are cutting-edge in our practice of medicine: science has advanced rapidly and extensively, especially in the last 50 years. We are restoring medical trust in the facts about women’s health and how to care for them.

Values That Guide Our Mission:

Acknowledgement that human life begins at fertilization and the lives of preborn children should be protected.

Acknowledgement that the direct and intentional destruction of innocent human lives has no place in the practice of medicine.

Promotion of quality research examining the effects of abortion on women and society as a whole.

Leadership in legislative advocacy efforts that result in policies that promote life-affirming medicine.

Orchestration of efforts that allow medical practitioners the ability to counsel their patients on the adverse effects of induced abortion, as well as life-affirming options.

Guarding the profession’s ability to practice medicine in the Hippocratic tradition, promoting health and healing and never intentionally taking the life of a patient.
